The Association’s Board of Directors visits Capitol Hill once a year to speak with Senators, Congressmen and USDA in person.

The Association also operates a PAC advocating the industry’s interests and concerns.

 National Meat Association has a continued presence in Washington, D.C. primarily through its Government Relations Liaison and legal counsel.

NMA’s Washington, DC liaison Shawna Thomas, is actively engaged in bringing the meat message to the Hill on a daily basis.

A native of Houston, Texas, Ms. Thomas earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Communication from George Washington University.
