The Associationís Board of Directors visits Capitol Hill once a year to speak with Senators, Congressmen and USDA in person.

The Association also operates a PAC advocating the industryís interests and concerns.

 National Meat Association has a continued presence in Washington, D.C. primarily through its Government Relations Liaison and legal counsel.

NMAís Washington, DC liaison Shawna Thomas, is actively engaged in bringing the meat message to the Hill on a daily basis.

A native of Houston, Texas, Ms. Thomas earned her Bachelorís Degree in Political Communication from George Washington University.
