NMA'S 50th ANNUAL CONVENTION

A GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

OAKLAND, CA -- National Meat Association is celebrating 50 years of service February 15-18, 1996 during their 50th Annual Convention in the hotel where it all began...the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, California!

In 1946, Western States Meat Packers Association was formed in the beautiful Palace Hotel and the association has been growing ever since. It merged with Pacific Coast Meat Association in 1983 to become Western States Meat Association, and merged again in 1993 with Mountain/Plains Meat Association. During the 1995 Exposition and Convention, Western States Meat Association became National Meat Association. The upcoming Annual Convention will be a memorable tribute to all those who helped NMA become what it is today!

NMA's 50th Annual Convention will also be packed with seminars and workshops tackling the primary issues facing today's meat industry. Topics such as HACCP, current regulations and legislation, marketing issues, and labor relations will be addressed by experts in the field.
