NMA AND SUPERIOR FARMS RECOGNIZED WITH TELLY AWARD

Oakland, CA – NMA was recognized by the 23rd Annual Telly Awards for its American Lamb Campaign, “Taste the Freshness,” done in conjunction with Superior Farms. The campaign, conducted by Image Ink and JDP Media, was acknowledged as a Finalist for 2002. David Carter, Administrator of the Telly Awards, said, "Each year we see more and more great work and this year was no exception. These companies enter only their very best work, so earning recognition as a winner or a finalist is a significant accomplishment in itself."

NMA’s Executive Director Rosemary Mucklow, an avid lamb eater, said, “We are honored to be recognized in this cooperative effort with Superior Farms. Lamb is a great center of the plate, both in the best restaurants and at home. This promotion was made possible through a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture and articulated by Teddie Crippen of Superior Farms.”

The Telly Awards is a national competition honoring outstanding non-network television commercials and programs, non-broadcast video and film production. According to a press release, nearly 11,000 entries were received for the 2002 Telly Awards competition. Of that number, 7-10% are chosen as winners and 14-18% as finalists, judged by twenty highly qualified production professionals, all of whom have previously won a silver Telly.

Entrants do not compete against each other, rather, the entries are judged based on a high standard of excellence. Entries from all 50 states as well as Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Malaysia, Denmark and the Netherlands were received.

The Telly Awards is affiliated with the Center for Creativity, an organization that traces its roots back to 1963 when a major survey of starting salaries in the advertising industry was conducted and published. The Telly Awards was founded in 1980, to showcase and give recognition to outstanding non-network and cable TV commercials. Now in its 24th year, the Telly Awards has become a well known, highly respected competition for people who create commercials, films and videos.
