OAKLAND,
CA – NMA announces its new Communications Manager, Kiran Kernellu. A recent
graduate of California State University, Sacramento (CSUS), Kernellu majored in
Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Psychology. She
has a background in Public Relations and government communications. While
attending CSUS, Kernellu worked as a student assistant at the Public Affairs
Office of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District Headquarters
and later at the California Department of Information Technology. After
graduating in December 2001, Kernellu worked as an Assistant Account Executive
at Elmets Communications in Sacramento, CA.
“We
are very pleased to have Kiran on the team,” said NMA Director of
Communications Jeremy Russell. “She has
the experience and enthusiasm to make an excellent editor for our weekly
newsletters, Lean Trimmings and Herd on the Hill.”
Kernellu
will be taking over all NMA communications duties from Russell in August. “You
couldn’t ask for a better replacement,” NMA Executive Director Rosemary Mucklow
commented.
National
Meat Association is a non-profit trade association representing meat packers
and processors, as well as equipment manufacturers and suppliers who provide
services to the meat industry. The association, with over 600 members
throughout the United States, includes membership in Canada, Australia and Mexico.
