FSIS'S MICHAEL TAYLOR TO SPEAK AT NMA'S 50TH ANNUAL CONVENTION

OAKLAND, CA: November 21, 1995 -- Acting Under Secretary for Food Safety Michael Taylor will be speaking during the luncheon General Session on Thursday, February 15, 1996 during NMA's 50th Annual Convention and Golden Anniversary Celebration in San Francisco, California. Mr. Taylor will provide valuable insight from a regulatory perspective on the major changes taking place in the Food Safety and Inspection Service, as well as in meat and poultry establishments across the country.

Acting Under Secretary and Administrator of Food Safety Michael Taylor has most recently been a strategist in the development of the USDA Pathogen Reduction and HACCP Regulatory Proposal. Taylor's previous government involvement includes Executive Assistant to the Commissioner, attorney to the office of General Counsel, and Deputy Commissioner for Policy for the FDA.
